Praise Update on Jai's October Visit
/ood Morning Friends Guyana.
We had a wonderful 10 day visit with Jai. We were able to have numerous gatherings and visit lots of friends. Jai was able to have a very special visit with Jean Prince whose husband BT is the man who led Jai to Christ 31 years ago. She enjoyed hearing the details of their conversation when God transformed Jai from a Hindu who was in poverty and so troubled that he had tried to take his own life to a dedicated servant of God. What a huge blessing that BT took the time to pursue Jai and because of his obedience to the Holy Spirit’s leading, this ministry came to be.
I wanted to let you know what God had planned in Region One that we had no idea was coming. As our team consistently visited river villages and many were saved, pastors started asking Jai if they could come under our ministry for accountability and training. That hadn’t been our plan…it was God’s plan. Jai was delighted and named that part of our ministry WAY OF THE CROSS OUTREACH. As of now, we have 17 churches in that category. We have helped several who needed a church building. The congregation does the building as we provide funds for the chain saw, gas, roofing materials and sound system. When Jai came, he brought photos of four of our churches who have built as far as they can go but need help to complete it. The cost was between $1000-$2000 depending on how far away their church is from the materials they need to build. Some have to transport the wood from a distance because they are in an area with coconut trees rather than trees that can provide wood to build with.
Pledges for three of these churches have come in. One still needs to be taken care of to help all these bi-vocational pastors who want to complete their churches. They are meeting in the buildings even though they aren’t finished.
